Cheyenne Jackson Weds His Longtime Boyfriend

Cheyenne Jackson and his longtime partner, Monte Lapka, were married Saturday in New York.“It's official, after 11 years together, Zora's no longer a bastard," Jacksonwrote via Twitter, joking about the dog the couple share, who was also in attendance for the event which took place at the beach in the Hamptons.

 “Just married the best man I’ve ever known,” Jackson wrote.The actor mentioned his desire to wed back in 2010 after California’s Proposition 8 ban was declared unconstitutional in an early court ruling. At that time he wrote "California dreaming, indeed. Makes me feel prouder than ever to be a strong gay man. Now come on, home state of New York ... We all know that you're the 'concrete jungle where dreams r made of,' so make mine come true and take the necessary steps to allow me to make it legal with my man. Step up, we believe in you."Turns out, dreams do come true.

 Once same-sex marriage became legal in the state of New York in June, and then the first couples began marrying in July, Jackson and Lapka started planning.Jackson plans to continue his activism in the fight for marriage equality and will be taking part in an upcoming readingof 8—the play by Dustin Lance Black about the Prop. 8 trial—on September 19th.Planning your wedding?
