NY Rangers Sean Avery is back after encounter with law

Sean Avery, a left winger for the New York Rangers recently did an interview with Mark Malinowski of The Hockey News.

Avery was recently detained by the LAPD for allegedly pushing a police officer, and he was released the next morning. The incident sparked all kinds of rumors and some thought Avery may be out of a job in New York. The allegations were dropped, and speaking with Malinowski is his first step back into the spotlight.

The interview showed a more personal side of Avery, as he expressed his love for New York. When asked what his favorite sports moment was, he responded "Getting traded to New York." Avery also assured that Madison Square Garden was his favorite venue to play.

Avery has always been known as a controversial figure in hockey, but recently has won over some fans by openly supporting gay marriage in New York, as well as posing nude to raise skin cancer awareness, The Huffington Post reports.

Avery’s contract expires at the end of the year.
