'Glee': 'Silly Love Songs'
The episode opens with Puck staring at Lauren in class. In flashback, it emerges that during their "seven minutes of heaven", Lauren claimed that he was not very good at kissing and wasn't turning her on. Back in the present, Lauren walks over and complains that the candy Puck gave her "sucked". When she leaves, Puck realises that he is in love with her. Meanwhile, Finn walks down the corridor and gets lots of attention from the girls around him because of his success in the football championship. He suggests that the only girl who won't kiss him is Quinn and decides to change that.
Meanwhile, Kurt and Blaine go to get coffee and Kurt complains about all the Valentine's decorations. Blaine admits that Valentine's Day is his favorite holiday and says he thinks it's great to have a day when you can tell people you love them. He asks Kurt if he thinks it is too much to sing to someone on Valentine's Day and Kurt insists that it's not. Kurt is also impressed when he realises that Blaine knows what coffee he drinks, and seems to think that Blaine has a crush on him.
At glee club, Will announces that he wants everyone to pair up and pick a love song to sing to their partner. Finn stands up and announces that he has decided that now he is like a celebrity in the school, he is going to raise money for charity - the glee club - by setting up a kissing booth. Santana makes a snarky comment and Finn complains that she's always running people down. Some of the other glee club members agree, including Lauren, but Santana says she's trying to steal her man. However, Puck announces he's not Santana's man. Rachel eventually says that Santana can dish it out but not take it, adding that she will end up working on a pole. Santana walks out, and later Brittany comforts her as she cries. Meanwhile, Lauren tells Puck that she expects he wants her to thank him for sticking up for her, but Puck admits that he knows she can take care of herself. He asks her out to Breadsticks, but Lauren says she is not desperate and tells him to woo her.
At Dalton, Kurt is doodling a Blaine and Kurt loveheart when Blaine approaches and reveals that he has called an emergency Warblers meeting. He tells the group that he wants them to help him serenade someone off campus. The group is shocked at the suggestion, but Kurt defends Blaine and says singing in informal situations helped New Directions to build confidence. However, he is crushed when Blaine reveals that he wants to sing at Gap because the guy he likes works there. After the meeting, he goes for a sleepover with Rachel and Mercedes and realises he made a romance with Blaine up in his head. Meanwhile, Rachel reveals that she is going to give Finn $100 so he has to keep kissing her. However, Mercedes points out that they don't need men, adding that their idols all found success when they were single because people could relate to them. She suggests that they all need to "fly solo" for a while.
Back at glee club, Puck serenades Lauren with 'Fat Bottomed Girls', as Santana looks on annoyed. At the end of the song, she walks out, pointing menacingly at Puck and Lauren. Lauren admits that no-one has ever sung a love song to her before but admits that it made her feel like "crap".
Finn sets up his kissing booth and Quinn arrives. She says she knows that he is trying to use peer pressure to get her to kiss him and refuses to do so. Finn says he knows she wants to, but Quinn says she can't do it and walks off. Sam looks on from a distance, and later confronts Quinn in the library, saying that he saw she was at kissing distance with Finn. He later suggests that it is weird that she hasn't kissed Finn yet if she doesn't care about him. He adds that he knows Quinn wants to be the queen bee and will be if she gets together with the star quarterback. Quinn eventually announces that she will kiss Finn to prove she doesn't care about him. Meanwhile, Rachel arrives at Finn's kissing booth and explains that she has realised she is better off without men. She pays her money but is disappointed when he kisses her on the cheek, eventually admitting that she is still in love with him. She insists that she doesn't care about anyone but him. Finn produces a present which he bought her for Christmas before they broke up. Rachel opens it and finds a star necklace. Finn tells her that she should be alone for a while because she is a star and needs to shine. He adds that although he can't be with her, he still believes in her. As Rachel walks away, she passes Mike and Artie, who are thrilled that they are dating two of the "raddest" girls in school with no jealousy or drama. The pair perform 'P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)'.
Later, Santana approaches Puck with a receipt, explaining that he owes her for a necklace she bought as a Valentine's present to herself from him. She says they can settle it with a meal at Breadsticks, but Puck is confused. Santana describes Lauren as a "white rhino", but Lauren overhears and soon the pair begin to fight in the corridor. The brawl is broken up by Coach Beiste, but Puck is impressed by Lauren's skills and asks her out again. Lauren tells him she'll consider it if he makes a presentation. Meanwhile, Quinn goes to kiss Finn at his booth and Sam watches as a chaperone. When Finn and Quinn kiss, they see fireworks. Afterwards, Quinn pretends that she has forgotten her purse so that she can return. She tells Finn to meet her in the auditorium the next day.
Blaine, Kurt and the warblers arrive at Gap to serenade Blaine's crush Jeremiah. They perform 'When I Get You Alone' and follow Jeremiah around the store. Afterwards, Blaine sits outside with Kurt and Jeremiah appears, complaining that he got fired. He adds that he didn't like the performance and points out that no-one knows he is gay. He adds that he got coffee with Blaine twice and says he couldn't date him because he's underage. Later, Blaine and Kurt go back to the coffee place and Blaine admits that he has made a fool of himself by making up a romance in his head. Kurt admits that he thought Blaine wanted to ask him out at first. Blaine confesses that he has never been anyone's boyfriend and isn't very good at romance. He says that he likes Kurt, but doesn't want to mess anything up. Kurt agrees and reveals that he has thought of something for them to do on Valentine's Day.
Back at glee club, Santana is annoyed by all the couples sitting around her. She sees the looks on Quinn and Finn's faces and realises that they have been fooling around. She decides to get revenge and goes to volunteer at the hospital. While there, she kisses someone who has mono to "borrow" his germs. Back at school, she kisses Finn at his booth. Later, Finn meets Quinn at the auditorium. Quinn points out that he is making her a cheater, but he broke up with her and Rachel for cheating. Finn says it hurt so much because he knew they didn't love him. Quinn claims that she loves Sam, but Finn tells her that she wouldn't be there if she did. He tells her that she will have to choose eventually, but Quinn says not yet and kisses him.
Puck meets Lauren in the library, but she says she doesn't think he is ready to date her. However, she is impressed when Puck produces a candy ring and asks her out to Breadsticks. She eventually agrees, but ends up standing him up. The next day, Puck finds Lauren and admits that he isn't used to being stood up, adding that he's not like other guys and won't hurt her. Lauren says she can take care of herself, but adds that she's not looking for someone to fool around with. She tells him that if they get together they will have to take it slow. Puck agrees to give it a shot.
Finn arrives at glee club after kissing every girl in school and hands over the money he has raised. Will thanks him, but admits that they still have a long way to go. Tina gets up to sing 'My Funny Valentine' to Mike, but ends up crying and collapsing on the floor. Meanwhile, Finn and Quinn admit that they don't feel well. Santana suggests that they have mono and reveals that kissing with tongue helps to spread it. Sam is confused, saying that he was there for their kiss and there was no tongue. Quinn and Finn end up going to the nurse, where Quinn points out that the first time she cheated she got pregnant and the second time she got mono. Finn says he is not done with him and Quinn yet, but Quinn tells him that she has to figure out what's going on with her and Sam. She adds that he needs to figure out what's going on with him and Rachel, saying that she sees him staring at her.
Later, Rachel comes to visit Finn and asks if he really did kiss Quinn. Finn admits that he did but claims he just needed to get it out of his system. He admits that he felt fireworks when he kissed her but is silent when Rachel asks if he felt them when he kissed her. Rachel begins to leave, saying that it is good that she knows there is nothing there for her anymore. Finn explains that he is confused, but Rachel says she's now free to pursue her dreams without anything holding her back. She leaves and sings 'Firework'.
The episode ends with the members of New Directions all going to Breadsticks, where Kurt, Blaine and the Warblers perform 'Silly Love Songs'.
