DADT: It Doesn't Get Anymore Offensive

Gays and Lesbians are under the research microscope of the Pentagon.

 Focus groups, research, meetings and studies are beginning to see if it is safe for this nation to allow members of the LGBT community to serve their nation. Even wives of military personnel are being asked if they can handle the possibility that their husbands might be forced to serve with us. The military is even considering an option to allow anyone who can't stand the thought of being in a foxhole with us to leave the military with full benefits.

How sickening is this process? It just doesn't get any more offensive.

Once again just simply put yourselves in our shoes. What if it was a study to examine the morality, the morale and safety if Christian whites had to serve with blacks or Jews? There would be an understandable uproar. That any Southern white honky who was uncomfortable with serving with blacks or Jews could simply declare them offensive and get an honorable discharge with full benefits? Who else can proclaim any discomfort with any group and be allowed to leave?

What if LGBT soldiers found, after a year long study, that they were offended have to protect straight soldiers? That we couldn't stand their harassment of women, lighting their farts and night to dawn beer fests? Do we have a say on what kind of person we find comfortable? Or is it just straights have a right to pass judgement on the LGBT community and no one else?

Nothing needs to be studied about LGBT soldiers serving openly and with pride. We are like all other members of the military and wish only to serve with honor and distinction. Any individual's bigotry should not be indulged or validated by a study of our government. Any soldier who can't serve with another patriotic American should leave the military and lose their benefits. There is nothing honorable about intolerance.

This entire process is deliberate delay and this study is simply offensive and outrageous
