No Reason Why ICE Separates Gay Couples But They Do

As You will see below Ice has a new feature. Get the cased tossed then re arrests again outside of courthouse and the clock gets reset.

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A gay man was separated from his husband by ICE agents during a routine green card interview, according to his local church.

Allan Michael Dabrio was separated from his husband and pastor after a meeting at Manhattan’s infamous 26 Federal Plaza on the Monday before Thanksgiving, Middle Church announced on Tuesday.

Afterward, he was isolated on the eighth floor of Federal Plaza and later transferred to Delaney Hall ICE Detention Center in Newark, the church said.

“Our church is standing with Matthew and Allan,” Rev Jacqui Lewis, senior minister of Middle Church, said. “It is holy work, and it is what Christians are called to do, in the name of the baby Jesus, who was himself an immigrant. This Christmas, we pray the Church everywhere recalls the command to love God with all we have and our neighbors—including the stranger—as ourselves. This is what Love looks like.”

Dabrio and Marrero married in 2023 and submitted their own immigration paperwork. A GoFundMe created by the family notes there was a removal order for Dabrio, but claimed they did not know about any issues.

The couple attended their I-130/485 interview, where they learned that Dabrio had a removal order, and then found out their green card application was denied, the family wrote online.

The couple was promised they would be able to leave the building safely and were told to immediately seek legal counsel and appear before an immigration judge as soon as possible, the family account said. As the couple walked out of the meeting, Dabrio was detained by ICE agents.

“I want my husband back. He has done everything in his power to be a law-abiding citizen. He is a warm and wonderful person who is being treated cruelly,” Matthew Marrero said. “He is one of thousands who are living this nightmare right now. We had goals and dreams that we were working towards. Applying for our Green Card was part of that. The lack of compassion that has been brought to light in this process is something everyone must see.”

Dabrio, a native of the Cayman Islands, came to the U.S. 10 years ago and has no criminal record, according to a petition seeking his release.
