One video at the mall which he never taped but someone else did without planning gave him the mental push by convincing him that people liked his voice. He wasn't going to keep singing at the mall that was a just once in a life time thing so it was obvious that the next thing would be the net. Did not cost anything and did not need anyone to get him gigs. No live audience and not immediate criticsm.

 It was all there in his kitchen or shower that he would sing and tape to the net. He started his career there and also tthat is where he came out. Both he found easy by not having to confront people live. He could concentrate in his talent and this would prepare him to eventually expose himself to thousands that have already been introduced to him.
