Chocolate Doesn't Stand A Chance
There is nothing Americans like better than sex. Except for the internet. A new survey reveals 21% of us would choose the internet over sex if forced to give one of them up for an entire year.
Researchers at the Boston Consulting Group, a global management consulting firm, looked at people's relationships with the world wide web in several countries and asked 1,000 in each about their habits.
The results? We love our internet. Almost a quarter of us would rather give up sex than the ability to surf the web.
Japan is even more addicted. 56 percent of people in the Land of the Rising Sun said they would stop having sex FOR A YEAR if it meant they could keep access to the internet instead.
What else would Americans be willing to part with instead of the internet? 77 percent say they could give up chocolate, 73 percent say they wouldn't have anymore alcohol, 69 percent say coffee is less important, and 7 percent say they would actually stop taking showers for an entire year if they had to.
Because no one can smell you on the internet.
What about cold hard cash instead? $2,500 is the average sum people say they would need to be paid to stop using the internet for a whole year.
