Obama Believes Sen.Specter in PA Will Loose
Obama Prepping for Primary Losses
CBS Chief Washington Correspondent Bob Schieffer says the White House believes Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter will lose to his Democratic challenger Joe Sestak in Tuesday's primary. "I have been told on background that the White House is preparing for a Specter loss here, and that the president doesn't want to be associated with that," Schieffer told Philadelphia's CBS affiliate. President Obama decided against a last-minute visit to Pennsylvania on Specter's behalf, and Vice President Joe Biden will also avoid the state. The Daily Beast's Richard Wolffe reports that Obama is clinging to the hope that Republican incumbents will face primary fights as tough as the one faced by Specter.
