Krueger’s opponent, Igor Oberman, an attorney and New York City administrative judge who left his job to campaign full time, said, “I believe the district isn’t properly represented. Kruger has made a mockery of the Democratic Party.”

Oberman, who fled the former Soviet Union in 1981 to escape “religious and ethnic persecution” and now lives in Brighton Beach with his wife Tanya, an accountant, is vocal in his support for marriage equality, and also talks a good deal about state government reform, housing, and transportation. by Nathan Riley
