Barhoppers Sue Jersey Shore Producers
Three barhoppers who were filmed getting into a physical altercation with Jersey Shorestar Ronnie Magro are suing producers of the reality show, claiming they profited from the scenes of drunken violence.
Stephen Izzo Jr., Joshua Thomas, and his wife, Kristin Porrenod, are suing Jersey Shore producers. Magro was seen knocking out Izzo in one episode of the show, and picking a fight with Thomas and Porrenod in another.
Magro came under fire earlier this year for a portion of his fight with Izzo that didn’t make it to air in which he called him “fucking f**got" and a "fucking queer." He later apologized for the rant, but he has been at the center of complaints related to his temper since.
Izzo tried unsuccessfully in February to block the DVD release of Jersey Shore. In March, Thomas and Perrenod filed a lawsuit in New Jersey superior court claiming the show's producers and MTV edited the boardwalk fight "in a manner that was completely inconsistent with what really took place."

New Jersey superior court judge Joseph L. Foster has allowed this latest suit to proceed for now as a racketeering complaint.
