British Gay Singer Craig David Speaks About The Speculation He is Gay
The British singer addresses the rumors…
While promoting his new album The Time Is Now, Craig David was asked about an interview The Guardian ran with on his return to music in 2016.
“There have long been whispers about whether or not David is gay, purely because, in his 16-year career he has never been known to have a partner,” it read.
This isn’t the first, and won’t be the last time a celebrity will face gay rumors because they have kept their love life private.
Following questions like ‘Are you looking for love?’ and ‘Are you on Tinder?’ David was asked his thoughts on the speculation over his sexuality.
“I shouldn’t have to reinforce [my sexuality] and say I’m heterosexual – I know,” he said on the Bizarre podcast.
He added he leaves it “very open” as he doesn’t feel the need to react to gay rumours as it’s very evident what his sexuality is from the nature of his songs.
It’s difficult to determine whether asking these types of questions are continuing the conversation around sexuality, or just attempts at gay baiting celebrities.
Dan Wootton claims “I believe everyone is a little bit bisexual” to which the Heartline singer responds: “I’ve always found it quite strange that we always try and define people.”
We think his response was very respectful.
Craig David’s new album The Time Is Now is set for release in January 2018.
