Dog Humped Another Male Dog and Gets Dumped For Being Gay in NC

A North Carolina dog was abandoned by its owners at an animal shelter after they complained that he was “gay.”

Fezco was dumped at the animal shelter after his owners discovered he humped another male dog in Stanly County. Despite the animal shelter describing Fezco’s story on their official Facebook page, the post met with several homophobic comments about the four-year-old pooch. He is described as a dog who loves to be around people and weighs about 50 pounds.

The post also urged people to foster Fezco temporarily until a new home is found for him.  After hearing Fezco’s story, several people online shared their opinions about the owner’s irresponsibility for dumping the dog due to their ignorance. One Reddit poster wrote, “Honestly, this is the best-case scenario. Nobody that dumb should be responsible for taking care of another life. I hope he finds an actual home.” 

Other users chimed in and said that female dogs occasionally hump male dogs as it is normal behavior for some dogs. Facebook user Susan Stump said the shelter where the dog was surrendered was a kill shelter and urged her followers to seek more information.

“This dog was surrendered to kill shelter for being gay. His time is up and now we need to be serious about saving his life. He’s had no interest and is out of time. Do any of my friends in NC or NY have room in their home and heart to foster him?”
