‘Time’ Says Gays were Sold as Sexless but Now Straights R’ Finding balls in the spaghetti

Steve Fries a gay writer at Time.com writes that Billy Crystal was right on his remarks about gay sex. First Steve says that his(Billy) words went out of context but regardless, he says the gay activists have sold us as sexless and now people are finding out that we also screw.

I am going to give you a chance to read what Steve wrote and a lot of it makes sense but I think he overshoots when he says ( my analogy to explain his point) that we sold this plate of spaghetti and meat balls to the straight population but kept the balls hidden by the noodles and now that the consumers are digging in to the plate they are bumping into the big balls of meat. Even though I am using an analogy to describe his writing in fact that is exactly what he says. “Gays won, essentially, by persuading everyone to view us as sexless. ”

In my view this argument makes the straight population as stupid as stupid could be and is unfair to both straights and gays. For straights have never figured out that we wanted our civil rights and to get married and that has nothing to do what we do in bed?  This fight has been our civil rights fight which includes: Who we love and marries. What do people do when they get married? What do straights do usually when they are dating,? Have sex! The incredible situation here and we have never hidden that is that we should have sex with the people we choose and love. We have been fighting to even have sex, not just to not get fired, lose our apartments or the right to order a wedding cake. People tried to have sex with the opposite sex because they did it that way. That is the insanity on the part of the people that fight us. It is about sex! They ask us to be like them when we are not.

Now that Hollywood is starting to very slowly show gay sex, despite the fact that it had always showed it but instead it was in rapes and other crimes or stories that had the gay guy as a bad character and not too often. Hollywood will show gay sex as long as it sells just like straight sex sells. Now you can discuss among yourselves who watches it. I don’t care about who watches it but I do care first about what Billy Crystal said which goes with what the ex queen of gays Barbara Streisand said. She complains about gay sex and called it disgusting even though nobody was asking her to have it.

As sensible people we should not be seen making out in the park, beach or bus because that offends everyone, straight and gays. I think it is offensive when a guy and girl are eating each other up right next to me on public transportation. But still we are being judged even by guys like Steve Fries by having sex in our own bedrooms.

A lot of guys are still uncomfortable with gay sex. They drive around with their boyfriends like they didn’t know each other. These ares guys that have recently found out what they are and are trying to adjust. Nothing likes sex, politics and religion to offend everyone on an audience.

This is a process. We hope for good programming from Hollywood and there will be gay sex. At least that will take then mysticism about two guys or two girls making love. May be we won't get stupid questions of who is the male one and the female?  How can two girls do it? Stupidity is the only word I can think of. Having said that I have nothing to be ashamed.  I am not going to make the mistake and explain my sex life or others sex life to any friend or family but the mystic over gay sex and anal fucking which straights never do(ha!)should be over because the birds do it parents do it and grandparents too…now talk about feeling disgusting talking about your parents having sex. That there!!! Explains everything and the point Im making more than anything else Ive said so far.

I say to Steve Fries, you are wrong we never sold the idea we were sexless like you say. This is the way your imagination interpreted it. They have thrown the fire balls at us and we have defended ourselves with honesty. Sex, sex protection is still been part of the discourse, may be you just missed it by may be watching too much TV.

In fairness there pieces of Steve’s writing that I agree with and even find funny but his main premise about we been sold out as sexless and that Billy Crystal was a casualty of the bad cams and audio that sometimes changes words like my spell checker, on that no dice. He is no outsider to Hollywood and what it publishes.
