Gay Stiff of Deserved Tip by Christian Couple Because He is Gay Thus Not Deserving
-
- A gay waiter at Carrabba’s Italian Grill in Kansas was denied a tip by patrons because of his sexual orientation. Instead the couple left him the following note:
- “Thank you for your service, it was excellent. That being said, we cannot in good conscience tip you, for your homosexual lifestyle is an affront to GOD. Queers do not share in the wealth of GOD, and you will not share in ours. We hope you will see the tip your fag choices made you lose out on, and plan accordingly. It is never too late for GOD’s love, but none shall be spared for fags. May GOD have mercy on you.”
- Carrabas released a statement saying that the company does not tolerate discrimination from either employees or guests.
- “We embrace diversity and believe in treating everyone with respect,” the statement read.
- However, company officials declined to say what action if any would be taken if the homophobic couple returned.
- Since the story first broke earlier this week, a number of patrons have rallied in support of the server, whose mother also works at the restaurant as a hostess.
- Dr. Marvin Baker and his partner had lunch at the restaurant on Thursday and requested to be seated in the server’s section.Baker served as a pastor for many years and currently leads a Bible study group for LGBT members.
- “I said, ‘We are here to meet your celebrity. The one who was mistreated.’ She said, ‘That’s my son. Would you like a table or booth?’ I said, ‘Wherever he’s serving,”Baker told local news stationWTVM.
- He continued: “This does not represent Christianity. I called them Pharisees. God really loves us. And God does not advertise or promote hate. That is not love.”
- As for the server, he is doing his best to avoid the spotlight and move on, though he did release a short statement which read: “The offers to help pay me back are much appreciated, but not at all needed. I’d prefer to let my work ethic and my service do the talking, nothing else.”
