Rich Sanchez Gets Everybody Talking for the Wrong Reasons

With his endless tweets and alarmist on-air rants, you wouldn't think it could get any easier to make fun of Rick Sanchez. Well, it did.

The media has been buzzing over the past couple of days about a couple of dim-witted things Sanchez said while covering the massive Chilean earthquake for CNN over the weekend. "Nine meters in English?" Badgering a guest scientist? Informing the world that Hawaii is now off the coast of Ecuador? There was no way to save face on this one. Cue the expected apology, which came earlier today.

Mea culped Sanchez, "Everybody's been all over me for this one. I was wrong."

Jon Stewart describes him the best: "Like a guy at a party who’s doing a lot of coke, who traps you in a corner, who explains really intensely how an ant is the strongest animal on earth."

After the jump, watch Sanchez's hi-light reel of blunders inter-stitched with an apology which, at one point, he naturally fumbles.
