25 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Were Republican and Very Conservative

Many people assume that Hollywood is a Liberal’s wish making factory. They see many fund raisers from AIDS to the Homeless which are typical liberal causes. They see many celebrities making commercials from PETA to Global warming. What you don’t see much when there is a Democratic President in between elections is how non liberal Hollywood can be. Actually Hollywood is very ‘conservative’ and have always been homophobic. There are so many ‘stars’ that make movies on causes between a voice for a fish or benign avatar and scripts that call for very human selfless causes.

Hollywood is a place in which what you sees is not necessarily what you get because this is a place where dreams and many times nightmares are created just for entertainment. People who know Hollywood understand that. There are actors that have worked all their life’s with the gay closeted actors and backstage workers and seem to know them yet they have belief’s which are homophobic and would seem anti those very people they know. In this list below there are actors and celebrities that are have opposed everything from gay marriage to dismantling DADT (don’t ask don’t tell in the US services). Many of these people are very conservative financially speaking and don’t believe on Government programs like social security, medicaid, food help, Obama care, etc. Many belief that their money should not be spent on those things. Instead many believe that this should is a country in which spends most of its capital in weapons that might never even be use but it makes people like them feel secure.

Celebrities coming from places like the UK have come here to make their lives away from the high taxes on income the UK places on movie making and on large percentages of profits when their movies do well. They would rather be citizens of a country that protects the top earners and idolizes people that have many hundred of times what an average person would have.  My opinion is that for them the GOP offers protection and an opportunity to pay less. They need that money to tip and pay for services they believe keeps the economy going.

This list could be longer but I wanted to show what I call ‘surprises’ when the reader sees one more time that in Hollywood what you see and hear is not necessarily the actual base truth and some of these guys are more conservative than any Republican President of modern times.

Many celebrities in this list are very well liked and they are very well talented. On the other hand they would have never done so well financially no matter their talents in no other economy and system as the Federal Capitalists system of the United States. I wanted to quote what these people have said or done against what 60% of the public bel;wives but there is no use to that. A good example and the only one I will name is Mel Gibson who in his premier days in his career spoke horribly of gays and elected them into a group that have sex by inserting themselves in a pooping organ of the anatomy. Obviously her was referring to butt fucking and believed or believes that only gays do jot and if you are gay you most do it. This made news in the past and I have no way of telling wether he has reformed his anus retentive opinion of gays but my opinion is he has not. I for myself love to see a man’s butt and nothing is more hair raising to see than a beautiful one that bubbles up like the sunshine in the morning (pants on or off). I don’t care what a mouth is used for if I like it and want to kiss it.  I will stop here…..Enjoy the list!!

Hollywood has long been a bastion of Democratic and liberal ideals. A-list Democratic celebrities (George Clooney, Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, the list goes on) loudly advocate liberal causes with the wide support of their industry peers. Politicians flock to the area, hosting as many fundraisers as they can, while Republicans typically avoid it.

But among the myriad of stars who bleed blue, there are still a handful who cast their votes for the other side. Thanks to the celebrity information site Hollowverse.com , we have a good idea of who they are. Some are outspoken Republicans, while others prefer to keep quiet, but have made statements here and there to indicate their political affiliation.

Who are they? See 25 Republican celebrities (or those who at least have Republican leanings), below.

#25. Bruce Willis

Bruce Willis has conservative and liberal leanings. He supports free health care for the elderly and backed Democratic candidate Michael Dukakis in the 1988 presidential election. He supports the right to bear arms, however, and has supported every Republican candidate in presidential elections since.

#24. Chuck Norris

Chuck Norris has been more outspoken against President Obama than most other openly Republican celebrities. So much so, that he and his wife issued a two-minute warning for America in 2012, implying that an Obama reelection would usher in “one thousand years of darkness.”

#23. Caitlyn Jenner

Kim Kardashian’s statement, cited by Hollowverse , says it all: “My household is really split up. The parents are Republicans and the children are Democrats. So, it’s like a political warfare in our household when we talk about politics.”

#22. Kris Jenner

Kris Jenner further confirmed Kim’s statement, saying that she is a “complete Republican.”

#21. Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad has supported multiple causes like fighting hunger and childhood cancer, advocating for victims of domestic violence, and even “liberal” causes like environmentalism. She prefers to keep her political views quiet but was seen applauding members of the Republican party (and smirking at Democratic ones) during a White House Correspondence dinner in 2008.

#20. Christian Bale

Christian Bale is pretty quiet about his political views, but Hollowverse notes that a handful of question and answer sites list the actor as a Republican. There is also evidence that he was one of only a few people to attend the funeral service of prominent NRA member Charlton Heston.

#19. Robert Downey Jr.

Many point to a comment Downey made to the New York Times as evidence that he’s a Republican:

“I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say too loud at dinner tables here, but you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal. You can’t. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone else, but it was very, very, very educational for me and has informed my proclivities and politics every since.”

It’s not too clear what changed in Downey during his time in prison (if anything you’d think such an experience would make a person more liberal), but it appears to have shifted his political leaning to the right.

#18. Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler is a registered Republican and donated $2,100 to Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign, according to Conservapedia.com .

#17. Kenny Chesney

Country music singer Kenny Chesney said to Politico in 2009 that “I voted for McCain. I voted to keep my taxes lower,” but also noted that he’s liberal in some ways, citing the fact that he’s pro-choice.

#16. Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood is a registered Republican, but doesn’t endorse any candidates openly. In fact, she “loses respect” for anyone who does, she told TV Guide in 2011.

#15. Peyton Manning

#14. Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough openly supported Mitt Romney in 2012. Her father, two-time chairman of the Utah Republican party, did as well.

#13. Owen Wilson

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn (both thought to be Republicans) tried to attend a DC Young Republicans conference in 2004 while they were filming Wedding Crashers. Wilson is known for being Republican and was permitted entrance, but the event coordinators were dubious of Vaughan’s real intentions and didn’t let the actor attend.

#12. Heather Locklear

Heather Locklear is another celebrity who stays mum on the matter of political leanings, but has been reported by Us Magazine to be a registered Republican.

#11. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan was an outspoken Obama supporter during the 2008 election, but shifted her support to Romney in 2012.

#10. Dean Cain

Dean Cain, best known for playing Superman in the 1990s is a registered Republican who openly backed Mitt Romney in 2012.

#9. James Earl Jones

The famed voice of Darth Vader has spoken out against the Obama Administration and it is well known that James Earl Jones is a steadfast conservative.

#8. Gretchen Wilson

Country star Gretchen Wilson sang the National Anthem at the Republican National Convention in 2008, and voiced her support for McCain and Palin throughout the 2008 election.

#7. Johnny Ramone

Original punk-rocker Johhny Ramone claimed that "Punk is right wing" in 2003, and openly supported Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush.

#6. Nick Lachey

Former 98 Degrees frontman Nick Lachey is a registered Republican, although he donated to the ResponsibleOhio campaign in 2015 supporting the legalization of marijuana.

Television star Kelsey Grammer is not ashamed of his conservative political leanings. In 2012 he criticized Hollywood for taking him out of the Emmy race, supposedly because he is an "out of the closet Republican in Hollywood."
