Tampa Stripper’a Club Goes After The Usual Republican with $

 In a private room at the 2001 Odyssey strip club, dancers with names like Candy, Bella and Ferrari sit on a high-backed velvet bench and video chat with online customers from across the country. For a price, they'll disrobe and move into an adjacent room to dance.   

Web customers pay a monthly membership fee for these virtual interactions. And some of them, the club says, end up coming to Tampa for a trip inside the spaceship-topped nude club on N Dale Mabry Highway where they can visit the strippers in person.

By August — just in time for the Republican National Convention — operators of Club Cam Systems plan to roll out similar ventures at two other Tampa adult clubs. Their goal: drum up thousands of dollars online while giving some of the estimated 50,000 GOP convention visitors a taste of the adult entertainment awaiting them when they arrive.

"For the RNC, people need places to go. We're trying to create the awareness for people who come to Tampa that Tampa has a lot of things to do," said Russ Bruno, an owner of Club Cam Systems.

It's a true "hub and spoke" model of social media marketing that's being synchronized just in time for arriving delegates, politicians, lobbyists and other tourists. Like other businesses pitching for convention visitors, the clubs are updating their Facebook pages and Twitter accounts to drive traffic to their websites, which drives foot traffic to the clubs.

"I think Tampa may be breaking new ground with this," said Glen Gilmore, a consultant and digital marketing professor at Rutgers University. "It's a dramatic shift in marketing, and I guess what's happening in Tampa just reinforces the fact that traditional marketing is yielding to new media and new marketing."

The Odyssey's journey into live streaming started about a decade ago but didn't go far because of $110,000-a-month broadband costs and dial-up customers who wondered why "the girl hasn't moved in 25 minutes," said Don Kleinhans, a club co-owner.

"Technology has now caught up," he said.

In the 5,113-square-foot club, cameras are perched above the dressing room's entrance watching the women apply makeup or change out of lingerie. Another sits above the main stage not far from neon signs hailing the "Make It Rain Machine."

Controlled by an ATM-like kiosk, the Make It Rain Machine allows customers online and in the club to drop as much as $2,000 in dollar bills from 2001's ceiling onto dancers. Rolling thunder accompanies the lucrative storm while the DJ announces the rainmaker's name and dedication. Performers can be tipped over the Web.

The cameras are tightly focused on the stage and patrons are never shown.

Tucked away behind a frosted glass door is the "Studio," where strippers video chat offstage with customers who pay a $19.95 monthly membership fee to access the site. For another $4 a minute, they can ask for a personal striptease. Many of the club's 300 dancers have profiles that inform viewers when their favorite entertainer is online.

Some strippers believe this "virtual club" is the answer for politicians who come to town and are scared of being seen in the club.

The service also draws clients into the Odyssey in person. That's what club operators are hoping happens during the RNC. "People coming down for the RNC can log in online and see what's going on at the club so they can bring parties to the club during the convention.”

Club Cam Systems, developed at 2001 Odyssey with its club owners staking a claim, is now being sold worldwide. The Mons Venus, the Odyssey's longtime rival across the street, hopes to have its Club Cam system operating by next month, said Toni Derby, director of operations. It will not include video chat services because the 3,100-square-foot club doesn't have enough room for a Web studio.

At the 2001, the club's staff stays tethered to laptops to monitor, chat and keep the Web operation running. In an instant, they can access the club's Facebook and Twitter accounts, and post updates and tweets to thousands of followers. It's a direct-marketing tool club operators will aim at conventiongoers using political keywords and hashtags to draw them in.

When they leave, Kleinhans hopes, visitors will go home with beach memories, a souvenir or two and a membership in the virtual club to "stay in touch" with some of the people they've met.

Jason Alexander Apologized For Crack About Gays and Cricket

Actor Jason Alexander has apologized for joking during a TV talk show that he considers cricket to be a "gay" sport.In a blog post, the former "Seinfeld" star explained Sunday what led to his remark on CBS's "Late Late Show." He writes that he at first didn't grasp why some might object to the comment, but that subsequent conversations with his gay friends led him to realize his insensitivity.

Alexendar's remarks came in Friday's show in which he tells host Craig Ferguson that aspects of cricket make it a "gay game" compared to other sports.

The actor's 1,000-word-plus "message of amends" says that the joking remark plays into "hurtful assumptions and diminishments" about people. He also writes that as an actor with many gay friends, he "should know better."

Rchard Dawson of Family feud, 79 Dies

  Richard Dawson, the wisecracking British entertainer who was among the schemers in the 1960s TV comedy "Hogan's Heroes" and a decade later began kissing thousands of female contestants as host of the game show "Family Feud" has died. He was 79.

 

Dawson, also known to TV fans as the Cockney prisoner-of-war Cpl. Peter Newkirk on "Hogan's Heroes," died Saturday night from complications related to esophageal cancer at Ronald Reagan Memorial Hospital, his son Gary said.

The game show, which initially ran from 1976 to 1985, pitted families who tried to guess the most popular answers to poll questions such as "What do people give up when they go on a diet?"

Dawson won a daytime Emmy Award in 1978 as best TV game show host. Tom Shales of The Washington Post called him "the fastest, brightest and most beguilingly caustic interlocutor since the late great Groucho bantered and parried on `You Bet Your Life.'" The show was so popular it was released as both daytime and syndicated evening versions.

He was known for kissing each woman contestant, and at the time the show bowed out in 1985, executive producer Howard Felsher estimated that Dawson had kissed "somewhere in the vicinity of 20,000."

"I kissed them for luck and love, that's all," Dawson said at the time.

He reprised his game show character in a much darker mood in the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger film "The  .

The British-born actor already had gained fame as the fast-talking Newkirk in "Hogan's Heroes," the CBS comedy about prisoners in a Nazi POW camp who hoodwink their captors and run the place themselves.

Despite its unlikely premise, the show made the ratings top 10 in its first season, 1965-66, and ran until 1971.

Both "Hogan's Heroes" and "Family Feud" have had a second life in recent years, the former on DVD reissues and the latter on cable television's GSN, formerly known as the Game Show Network.

  

"I never dreamed I would have a job in which so many people could touch me and I could touch them," he said. That triggered an unexpected laugh.

Producers brought out "The New Family Feud," starring comedian Ray Combs, in 1988. Six years later, Dawson replaced Combs at the helm, but that lasted only one season.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Dawson was born Colin Lionel Emm in 1932 in Gosport, England. His first wife was actress Diana Dors, the blond bombshell who was Britain's answer to Marilyn Monroe.

In Ottowa,  The forensic psychiatrist famed for examining sex killer Paul Bernardo says he fears that the person who killed and dismembered a man in Montreal may kill again.
“If it is sexual and he has gone to this extreme, then I think the risk of killing again in a serial way goes higher,” Dr. John Bradford said in an interview. “So that is my worry about this.”
Luka Rocco Magnotta, a 29-year-old self-described porn star and prostitute, is wanted for first-degree murder and for “interfer(ing) with . . . the human remains (of) an unknown person” in connection with the gruesome discovery of body parts in Montreal and Ottawa this week.
A horrifying and graphic video has surfaced that is believed to show both the killing and aftermath of the death linked to the body-parts case. The video, titled ‘1 lunatic 1 ice pick,’ depicts a person killing a man and then committing gross indignities to his naked body.
It also has been alleged that Magnotta posted video on the Internet of himself suffocating and then dismembering kittens.
Bradford is an expert in understanding what makes men commit unspeakable crimes. He is head of forensic psychiatry at the University of Ottawa and recently retired as associate chief of forensics at the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre.
He has looked into the minds of some of the most notorious criminals of our time, from the murderous Kray brothers in Britain, to sadistic sex murderers Joseph Fredericks and Bernardo, whom he examined in 1994 before he stood trial for murdering teenagers Kristen French and Leslie Mahaffy.
Bradford said he is worried that the suspect is a sadist, with a serious personality disorder, who is “possibly a psychopath.”
And after killing once, he may be consumed by an urge to attack again. “People who get to the point of committing sexually-motivated homicides have very strong drives to continue.”
And to that end, Bradford said that it’s important to understand whether the killing was sexually motivated.
“The sexual component is assumed but until we know what relationship there was between him and this man, who is now deceased, it’s speculative. Although there is good evidence to support it (being sexually motivated),” he added.
“Was he in a relationship with this male? We don’t have the answer to that. It sounds as though they knew each other. Was this a sadistic homicide against a gay partner?”
Dr. Bradford explained that if a person kills because they are “high on drugs or psychotic,” the “drive to kill again is less strong.”
He also said it’s unlikely that the suspect is mentally ill or psychotic. “Most people with (a) serious mental disorder don’t do these types of things.” He also said the thought processes of the mentally ill are usually too disordered to carry out such a deliberate publicity campaign.
He notes a couple of elements of this case he considers to be outside the pattern of sadistic killers.
While dismemberment is not “super unusual” — Bernardo and Homolka did it to try to hide their crime — “what is unusual is to start mailing body parts all over the place and record what you are doing as a homicide.”
Sexual crimes are frequently recorded on video, Bradford said, but rarely murders. Even those who commit sexually-sadistic homicides (such as Bernardo and Homolka) tend to record only the sex because it is erotic to them.
“It sounds as though the purpose of the video was the homicide itself. It seems planned. He had a video camera set up and does the killing on the video. You have to ask yourself what is the motivation for that. It doesn’t sound to be sexual. Is he extremely psychopathic and he wanted to bring himself into a position of tremendous notoriety, to become infamous as a Canadian homicide perpetrator? People with extreme psychopathology would do these sorts of things,” he said. “That is my gut feeling.”
He also said recording the killing of kittens is a “red flag.”
“One of the hallmarks of sadistic behaviour is cruelty to animals.”

{A year before he became the target of an international manhunt for an alleged killing and dismemberment, Luka Rocco Magnotta was being hailed as a hero of free speech on a U.S. white nationalist website.

A May 27, 2011 post on Stormfront.org refers to Mr. Magnotta as “an open white supremacist” and claims he was being forced to flee Canada and return to Russia because of “his views on white supremacy.”}

The post, by a forum member named reddragon1, said Magnotta “is of Russian/Italian heritage,” was born in Tolyatti, Russia, moved to Canada at age five and went to the United States to work in modeling and adult entertainment.

“However, after he published his website supporting the freeze on immigration to America and Canada, he was bombarded with hate mail and his website was removed,” the post read. “His websites were frequently targeted and removed.”

It quoted Mr. Magnotta’s website as lamenting that “blacks get their own countries, Chinese get their own countries … however if white people want their own countries then we are denied that right.”

A photo of a shirtless Mr. Magnotta accompanied the post, which has now been taken down. A second and final post by reddragon1 the following day made derogatory comments about Jews. Stormfront is run by former Ku Klux Klan leader Don Black.

The blog Anti-Racist Canada, which found the Stormfront posts, reported Thursday that it would be sending them “to the appropriate authorities” and said it suspected reddragon1 to be Mr. Magnotta himself.

{Mr. Magnotta appeared again on Stormfront in September, when a member wrote that “Luka Magnotta, he wrote a lot of very interesting articles on multiculturalism. I for one am extremely happy that he is courageous enough to write the things he does, knowing full well he will receive death threats. … He says he is not advocating killing different races, he simply does not want to communicate, work or associate with different races.”}

Abbee Corb, an analyst with the Hate Crimes Extremism and Investigative Team, which advises police services in Ontario, said Stormfront “has become a social networking site and prominent voice in the right-wing white supremacist community.

“Prominent Canadian right winger Paul Fromm, hosts his radio show on the Stormfront network. Stormfront has a great deal of Canadian and international content. Its users can post and create content promoting events, recruiting and providing commentary on global events.”

He said that some early animal killers can go on to carry out some “bizarre and extreme and gruesome killings,” and that some of North America’s most notorious serial killers started off by abusing animals.
Animal abuse can also indicate the person was a victim of childhood abuse.
Bradford said that necrophilia is mostly associated with “sexual deviation and personality disorder” rather than a mental illness.
“People who commit sexually-motivated homicides, at the high end they go on to engage in necrophilia.”
He said it’s important for the public to be alerted to these cases, not just to warn them, but also to help them look out for deviant behaviour.
“If you look at studies on sadistic murderers, the number of them that have been cruel to animals is a very significant percentage,” he said.
“I think that unfortunately these very horrific things do occur — fortunately rarely — and we should be aware of it, so if somebody is being cruel to animals then somebody knows enough to pay attention.”

FB to Receive Award from GLAAD Which Has Lowered Standards For Such Things

Facebook will definitely get a rainbow-colored "like" this evening from the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation which gives it a media award for inclusion and equality. The award from the prominent gay rights group comes after Facebook has launched equality initiatives in recent years, such as rallying against bullying and changing options for relationship statuses to include LGBT partners. Facebook has also participated in events such as Spirit Day, where employees turned their profile pictures purple to show support for LGBT youth. The GLAAD event will go down at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis in California and, though it's certain to draw some criticism, seems to be just the latest evidence of shifting attitudes toward the LGBT community.
It looks to this blogger like GLAAD is going to run out of people and orgs. to honor.  In the case of FaceBook they don’t have clean hands on the issue of gay and lesbians. They have allowed racist , homophobic groups, violent groups into the their pages. From skin heads to religious with skinned brains.  It’s been very hard to remove them and now you still have plenty of anti gay groups taking advantage of the freedom that they have received from FB.  On the other hands there are gay bloggers and gay members that have been censored for speaking out about these groups and other problems with FB as it relates to gays and lesbians. There is no organization on the planet that has allowed so much bullying than FB.  
So it begs to ask the question, why the honors? They (FB) have done some to clean up their act but still these groups find solace in FB. FB still does not know who really is a real member or just one of the FBI top Ten list.
Anybody can open an account with what ever name or what ever phony information they decide to put there.  FB does nothing to try to secure its members from those anonymous for which most of the problems of bullying, spamming and malware come to be.
I used to have the greatest respect for GLAAD but now I don’t know what to think. They were supposed to be the watch dogs of places like FB and Tv programs that disparaged gay people unfairly.
I don’t watch Spanish TV but reading bloggers that do watch I hear about last sunday’s Cristina show on a spanish channel,  somebody who is been awarded and recognize by GLAAD, yet IM told that they had a program about a therapy cure for gays yet she had no one capable to rebuttal and refute the guests that were there with that message which already should have been passe. No statements from GLAAD, except that the show has not been renew for next season so they are not going to bother with it.

More bad news for Justin Bieber: He knocked himself out after crashing into a glass wall in Paris. The singer walked headlong into the wall shortly before his last number at a private performance in an undisclosed highrise in the city. "It really hurt, and I felt light-headed, but my adrenaline pushed me through it" to finish the performance, he told TMZ. But the Biebs passed out cold for several seconds when he went backstage, and he was "unresponsive" for longer, he said. French doctors told him he had suffered a concussion, and should take it easy and keep someone nearby as he recovered, reports Reuters.

He said he later felt fine, though still had a headache. You "gotta laugh at yourself sometime," he said. It's a bad moon rising for Bieber. The singer is under investigation for possible assault in a recent confrontation with a photographer. Earlier this week, several fans were injured in a girl-crush at a free Bieber concert in Norway.
