The Straight Numbers on The Senate and The Gay Issues Who Won What?

(Andy Sanders projected to win a Senate seat in Maine, has not revealed which party he will caucus with.)

US House
  • Democrats
  • Republicans
  • Independents
  • Others
  • Undecided

A veto Proof Senate takes 60 votes. It looks like Dems will end up with about between 52-54
Democrats Senators if the independents Caucus with them.  That means that on any hot button legislation the Dems are going to need between 6-7 GOP’s to vote with them.  Possible? Anything is possible. The Democrats had a big job to do. First they had about 22 seats to defend and they had to go over that to get the senate.  They did both. Now when People say that Congress cannot do anything or get together, the answer should be an intellectual slap if they have any intellect to slap and remind them, Who put them (The congress)there? Either the ones that voted for the ones that don’t budge or just stayed home(those tend to be the loudest bitch-ers) Obviously is not kansas, but more Moderate states closer to the Southeast and south west, like Arizona, Hawaii, Texas(which eventually will be blue because the spanish vote will have a swayed), just like it did in Florida with Puerto Ricans in Miami, but mainly in the Orlando area. The Hispanic vote there guided by the Puerto Ricans from the Center state to 50% to 48% for GOP. Giving Obama 303 electoral votes Vs. 206 for the Reds.

                                                       Gays

As I put this grah and numbers together from early this morning,  I also most say that in every anti-proposition or Prop for gay marriage, the anti Gay propositions failed and where Gay marriage was on the line for voter Approval it won.  Gay History Continues.  On the Speech The President mentioned the Gay community as people that can succeed here no matter who they love.

A lot of Gays voted for Obama and he Thank them, even though we also need to thank him. Younger Voters, which includes some younger gay voters voted or stayed home this time, since even though Obama got 60% of the young vote, last time was a bit higher, those younger Votes My guess is,  do not understand how our system of government works. We do a poor job teaching young people in how this complicated system is all about. I have always liked politics, it was big in my family and I was in my late 30’s when I had a better understanding of how things work, which was totally opposite of what I thought. You can’t describe it with a cute slogan.
