Angelina Mortified by Anti Gay Comments By Brad’s Mom

She is soon to be her daughter-in-law.
But Angelina Jolie is not exactly seeing eye-to-eye with Brad Pitt's mother Jane.
In fact the actress is reportedly 'mortified' by her.

The 37-year-old Tomb Raider star was apparently left outraged after her future mother-in-law urged readers of a local Missouri newspaper to vote against President Barack Obama because of his support of gay marriage.
In a letter published in the Springfield News-Leader, Mrs Pitt said Republican candidate Mitt Romney is a ‘family man’ with ‘high morals’ who is against same-sex partnerships - despite the fact that her famous son and his fiancĂ©e are avid supporters of the President.
According to Radaronline, Angelina was not at all happy. The actress is known to be a staunch supporter of Obama and the couple have visited him in the White House.
Stuck in the middle: Since the letter, Angelina has now reportedly asked Brad to teach his mother not to be so outspoken about same-sex marriage, especially since the celebrity couple clearly support it

'Jane has never wanted to talk politics with Angelina,' a source told Star magazine.
'She knew it would cause greater issues for them, and she wanted to try to have a relationship with the mother of her grandkids. She never thought her letter would be such a big deal.'
In the letter Mrs Pitt added: ‘I hope all Christians give their vote prayerful consideration because voting is a sacred privilege and a serious responsibility’.

Since the letter was published, Angelina has now reportedly asked Brad to teach his mother not to be so outspoken about same-sex marriage, especially since the celebrity couple clearly support it.
'(She) has told Brad he must educate his mother, but Brad is too much of a mama's boy,' a source told the magazine.

'If Brad won't do it, Angelina will have to take matters into her own hands and talk to Jane about how, as the mother of such a prominent celebrity, she shouldn't be writing letters that clash with her son's personal opinions.'
And it appears that Brad just wants to brush the entire issue under the carpet, in fear of being stuck in the middle of his future wife and own mother.
'It'll inevitably end up in a huge blowout, with Brad stuck in the middle,' the insider told Star.
'Brad keeps telling her not to take this so seriously, but when Angie sets her mind on something, there's no talking her out of it.'
Meanwhile Angelina's father Jon Voight recently stepped in to defend his daughter's future mother-in-law over her anti-Obama stance.
'Good for her', said Mr Voight.
He told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column that he agrees with Mrs Pitt's opinions, reports Fox News.
Mr Voight has been outspoken against Mr Obama before, writing an open letter to the Washington Times in June 2010 that states the President 'promoted anti-semitism throughout the world'.
Brad’s brother Doug Pitt also defended his mother earlier this week during an appearance on the Today Show.
'I think moms and dads and kids agree to disagree all over the world. So why would our family be any different? There can be healthy discussion when people disagree with you,' he said.
'The bad thing is when it turns to venom and negativity, and we don’t have that in our family. It’s open discussion. We can learn from each other and, if anything, it solidifies your point. Or maybe you learn something.'
Jane Pitt has received a torrent of abuse and even death threats since her controversial views were made public.
'Brad Pitt's mom, die,' Sandy Kownacka posted on Twitter.
Support: Brad’s brother Doug, left, also defended his mother earlier this week during an appearance on the Today Show
'BRAD PITT'S MOM WROTE AN ANTI-GAY PRO-ROMNEY EDITORIAL. KILL THE BITCH,' a user posting under the name I Bleed Gaga added.
Mrs Pitt is said to be now frightened and in despair after the backlash, and is now keen to maintain her silence, according to WND.
Mrs Pitt wrote in response to a letter which justified Christians’ rights to refuse to vote for Romney because he is a Mormon. She appeared to be planning on voting for him.

Brad once said of his mother’s outspoken views: ‘She’s very loving, very open, genuine, and it’s hilarious because she always gets painted as a she-devil.’
In December 2011, the 48-year-old actor told the talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, who is herself a lesbian: 'I've said that we would not be getting married until everyone in this country had the right to get married.'
The Hollywood power couple, who have six children together, eventually gave in and announced their engagement in April, but have yet to set a date.
