Gay Elephant GoProud Endorses Mitt Romney, Just like the Victim Stays with the Abuser

Founded in 2009 with both gay and straight members, GOProud ran ads against Democrats in the midterm elections and is preparing another ad campaign on behalf of Romney this cycle.

The executive board for GOProud, a group founded by two former members of the Log Cabin Republicans, Christopher Barron and Jimmy LaSalvia made an official endorsement."GOProud is prepared to commit significant resources to help make Mitt Romney the next president of the United States," said Lisa De Pasquale, interim chair of the GOProud board of directors and the former director of the Conservative Political Action Conference.

At the group's board meeting Tuesday, two members—one of whom was Barron, the group's former chairman—voted against endorsing Romney, said GOProud.

LaSalvia, GOProud's executive director, said the organization "respects" the fact that not everyone on the board agreed with the decision.

"We don't agree with Gov. Romney on every single issue—indeed, we disagree strongly with him on his support for a federal marriage amendment and we have urged Romney publicly to take bolder and more conservative stances on tax reform, entitlement reform and spending," LaSalvia said. "Given the vote on our board, obviously not everyone in our organization will agree with this endorsement, and we respect that."

Barron is currently representing Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson as a spokesman and press agent, and has personally endorsed his campaign. 

There are usually two sides of every story and in the case of gay political groups there had to be a group of gay republicans that do not endorse the democratic dogma. The republican party  kicks them and say the meanest things about them, being gay, but there they are. Like the wife that gets beaten by her husband every time he gets drunk. She stays with him and endures waiting for the day that he would go sober. The same with the republicans gay groups.  They wait for the day that the democrats force the republicans to sober up from religion-mix politics government and homophobia. There are many rich gay republicans that give a lot of money to the republican party, but in turn they don’t,  we don’t see any change. Every year party and the leaders become more entrenched in the old fashion religion-I mean ideas.. When the democrats stray the gay donors start closing their purses.  They’ve done it in the past and we have seen results. We can’t get everything we want because there republicans and some democrats in the states that live in the past century hold part of the government.  But the point is that the democratic party have come to find out  that because gay people are a minority, they are not a minority of a few thousands.  They are a forceful minority because they, we, fight for our lives every day. But amazing enough going back to this poor wife that gets beaten up by her husband also pays for some of the bills so is not like she didn’t have anyplace to go and be independent. She either likes abuse or she thinks she is not good enough for anybody else and so she stays and waits and waits.    adamfoxie*
