Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio put out a press release to say deputies found a lot of weed last night --Steven Seagal not included this time.

In fact, the press release says deputies have "arrested more than 20 illegal aliens and seized nearly two tons of marijuana" in the last month.

Arpaio even declares "[d]rug trafficking is increasing involving illegal aliens," and says he's prepping for a "drug and illegal alien crime suppression operation."

Meanwhile, not a single one of the zero people arrested in connection with the truck full of weed is an illegal immigrant.

That doesn't mean the marijuana-mobile driver's weren't illegal -- it's not exactly anillegals-started-the-wildfire statement -- but it appears to be a pretty casual connection here.

When asked about the sheriff's quote, MCSO spokesman Jeff Sprong tells New Times the majority of people arrested for transporting drugs in that area are also in the country illegally.

According to the sheriff's office, deputies spotted tire tracks were seen in this "well known smuggling area" in Mobile, and after finding the truck sitting under a tree by its lonesome about 10 miles later, deputies are suspecting "they were tipped off by drug spotters" and ran away. http://blogs.phoenixnewtimes.com

Inside the truck: 2,094.5 pounds of marijuana.

Illegal immigrants, alleged illegal immigrants, or no illegal immigrants, here's what a truck carrying 2,000-plus pounds of weed looks like:
