Santorum 2 Cents in The Cameron Controversy

Thursday night, CNN’s Piers Morgan asked guestRick Santorum to impart his two cents on the controversy regarding comments that actor Kirk Cameron – that “Growing Pains young heartthrob of the 80s” — had made on the show regarding homosexuality.

“I think both sides need to respect both sides,” Santorum replied, pointing to the 9th Circuit’s assertion that those who believed marriage should be between a man and a woman are “bigots and haters.”

  “I respect people who disagree with me,” he continued. “I think they have a right to go out and make their case and sell it to the American public and try to change the law as they see fit. I don’t use language that, you know, calls them bigots or haters.”

Santorum later admitted that he hadn’t heard Cameron’s comment.

“You have really got to watch the show more often, Senator!” Morgan advised.
