Tel Aviv Has Been voted } Best Gay City On Planet Earth

Tel Aviv has been voted the best gay city of 2011 because of its nightlife and 'free and easy' atmosphere.
The Israeli city garnered 43% of the vote in the Gaycities.com poll.
The website calls the coastal Mecca for gay tourists 'the city that never takes a break' and praises it for its vibrant scene.
'Huge parties' are held every weekend, Gaycities.com says, and the annual pride parade in June 'dominates the social scene of Tel Aviv'.
Tel Aviv Mayor Ron Huldai greeted yesterday's news by writing on his Facebook page, saying “victory in this competition further highlights the fact that Tel Aviv is a city that respects all people equally and allows all people to live according to their values and desires.
'This is a free city in which everyone can feel proud and be proud of who they are.'
New York came second in the poll with 14% of the vote, followed by Toronto and Sao Paulo.
Madrid, London, New Orleans and Mexico City rounded off the list.
Other categories included Best Pride, Best Food and even Best Dressed.
Buffalo in the States was voted Best Up and Coming City, praised for its 'laidback gay community with a love for lesbian folk music.'
