Jennifer Lopez's Boyfriend Gets Sentenced in Court Today

Casper Smart's need for speed has finally caught up with him.

On Tuesday at Van Nuys Superior Court in California, the 24-year-old backup dancer pleaded no contest to speeding. He was arrested for drag racing in April 2010.

"His attorney came in and advanced the case this morning," Los Angeles city attorney's office spokesperson Frank Mateljan tells Us Weekly. "[His attorney] entered a no-contest plea and was sentenced to 12 months' summary probation and ordered to pay a $500 fine."

Casper Smart's run-in with the law won't be cutting into his romance time with Jennifer Lopez. PlayiWhile Smart and Lopez were still in Miami, Casper's attorney was able to speed things up earlier today.

J. Lo's dancer beau was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face sentencing for charges stemming from drag racing, but...

Smart was arrested for drag racing in April 2010. He plead no contest to the charge on March 29, 2011. He was ordered to do 10 days of community service by his next court date, which had been for Thursday.

"It's been an Amazing, Positive, & Successful 2011," Smart tweeted on New Year's Eve. "Thank you to everyone who was a part of that and I wish you the best!! 2012 here we come!"

Just don't go too fast, Mr. Smart.
