Gareth Thomas is rumoured to be entering the British Celebrity Big Brother house, while gay singer Boy George has rubbished reports that he will be too.
Thomas, 37, who retired from rugby last October and is openly gay, is the latest name on the list of people speculated to appear on the controversial Channel 5 show and transgender Lauren Harries, who ran a campaign to get into the house last year, may have been successful in her quest.
Others who have been hinted at are boyband McFly’s Danny Jones (who would join fellow bandmates Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter in the world of reality TV), former boyband member Lee Ryan from Blue, shamed X Factor contestant Frankie Cocozza, Denise Welch from TV chat show Loose Women, Kirk Norcross from reality show The Only Way Is Essex and footballer Ryan Giggs’ sister-in-law Natasha. Some also think that former EastEnders soap actor Shaun Williams will also be in because he features in the show’s teaser advert released in December.
However, singer Boy George has denied rumours that he will is taking part in the show, tweeting: ‘I’m absolutely not going into CBB! But I am looking forward to Dubai & Australia with Culture Club!’ then added ‘OMG, if I'm in BB tonight, funny how I'm at home taking my Xmas tree down!’
Celebrity Big Brother starts its ninth series tonight (5 January) on Channel 5 when the full, official line-up will be revealed. The series host will be openly gay former UK Big Brother contestant Brian Dowling.
