TBS to cancel late-night talk showLopez Tonight. Party'over

TBS cancels 'Lopez Tonight'

The network issued a statement about the two-year show coming to an end:
“TBS has reached the difficult decision not to order a third season of Lopez Tonight. Thursday will be the final episode of the show. We are proud to have partnered with George Lopez, who is an immensely talented comedian and entertainer. TBS has valued its partnership with George and appreciates all of his work on behalf of the network, both on and off the air.”
The ratings explain TBS’ decision pretty clearly:
The first season of Lopez Tonight averaged 911,000 viewers at 11 p.m., 2010-11 season dropped to 543,000 at midnight. Conan has averaged 1 million viewers in the 11 p.m. slot since joining the schedule.
TBS broke into late night by launching the Lopez show in 2009, then snatched up Conan O’Brien after his fall out with NBC last year. Lopez said he wanted his show to break from the usual late-night tradition and have more of a block party atmosphere. Conan will continue on the network as part of O’Brien’s multi-year deal with TBS. The move comes on the heels of TBS renewing Franklin & Bash and cancelling Men of a Certain Age.

Sen. Roberto Arango, an anti gay Republican Resigns after posting Nude photos of himself

Sen. Roberto Arango, a Republican who represents the capital of San Juan, presented his letter of resignation after a weekend meeting, Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz said.
Schatz did not release the lawmaker's letter, but said the circumstances that led to the resignation "are very lamentable."
Local news media published photos from the application showing a man's nude upper body with a cellphone obscuring his face. Another photo showed a rear view of a nude man on his hands and knees. Another showed a fuzzy image of a face that seemed to match Arango's.
Arango has neither confirmed nor denied suggestions by local media that the photos might be of him and apparently was not asked if he had posted them. During a recent interview with WAPA TV in Puerto Rico, the senator said he has taken pictures of himself with a cellphone to document his recent weight loss.
This so called Senator that helped the Bush campaign in P.R. At One point showing a rubber duck(as posted in adamfoxie*)  and making it quack. In Puerto Rico, a duck is the equivalent of the F* word. Again the strongest Homophobes are gays in the closet. A shame of themselves they tried to bring shame to people like them. We have plenty of information now a days to dsicredit all the crazy stuff that is said about 'gays'. The only reason that will make somebody publicly make up stories about 'gays' and deny 'gays' civil and human rights is because they are homosexuals.

A graduate of Louisiana State University and a food importer before turning to politics, he was chairman of a business council for the national Republican Party and municipal director of the Republican Party in Puerto Rico, according to his Web page for Puerto Rico's Senate.
Pedro Julio Serrano, founder of the gay rights group Puerto Rico for Everyone, said Arango voted in favor of Resolution 99, a proposal that would block any attempt to permit same-sex marriages in the U.S. territory. He also helped block a measure to ban sexual discrimination in the workplace and opposed adoption rights for gays.
"This isn't a moment to kick someone when he's down, but I have to denounce Sen. Roberto Arango's complicity with a fundamentalist agenda that promotes the exclusion and marginalization of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people," Serrano said Sunday.
Local news media said that the pictures first appeared on an iPhone application for gays and bisexuals and that they themselves later received copies from unidentified sources.
In recent days, Puerto Rican Gov. Luis Fortuno had said that if the man was indeed a legislator, he should resign. That echoed the sentiments of other lawmakers, including local House Speaker Jenniffer Gonzalez.

A tip given to blogger Joe.My.God. adds that, “In 2009 he [Arango] voted in favor of Resolution 99 which would have amended Puerto Rico’s constitution to ban the recognition of same-sex marriages (it didn’t pass). He has been opposed to civil union bills and in 2004 he used a rubber duck and made it quack to make fun of an opponent (in Puerto Rico, the word for duck, “pato”, means faggot.)”
Grindr is a very popular geosocial networking application primarily used by gay men to identify and communicate with other gay men nearby, often to arrange dates, hookups, or other often sexual encounters. Grindr boasts it has “has 45,000 users per second and it is now the globes largest gay social network and has people registered throughout 92 countries,” according to Bentmagazine.
Last year, sent the following letter to the U.S. Congress, and was subsequently excoriated and ridiculed for his poor grammar, English, and overall lack of understanding of the very basic issues surrounding statehood for Puerto Rico.

Tea Party Republicans and Eric Cantor(R-VA) Going After FEMA

A wave crashed over the tidal wall along the boardwalk Saturday as Hurricane Irene approached Ocean City, Md. (Ricky Carioti - Washington Post)
With less than $1 billion currently available for federal disaster assistance, the Federal Emergency Management Agency is temporarily suspending payments to rebuild roads, schools and other structures destroyed during spring tornadoes in Joplin, Mo. and southern states in order to pay for damage caused by Hurricane Irene.
FEMA will still pay people eligible for individual storm assistance and some states recouping emergency response costs from previous disasters. But the agency said it will place restrictions on paying for older longer-term public rebuilding and mitigation projects in order to ensure the solvency of the federal disaster relief fund, which pays for emergency management costs and public rebuilding projects.
The decision affects the spring tornadoes and disasters dating back several years and “prioritizes the immediate, urgent needs of survivors and states when preparing for or responding to a disaster,” said FEMA spokeswoman Rachel Racusen.
The federal government similarly suspended some disaster payments in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2010, according to FEMA.
Overnight, President Obama signed federal emergency declarations for the District of Columbia and Delaware, opening a stream of funding to pay for emergency response efforts there. Ten states, the District and Puerto Rico have applied for federal emergency assistance since last week.
Also late Saturday, Obama declared a major disaster in Puerto Rico, a move that makes money available to individuals affected by Irene’s destruction.
The White House is expected to declare similar disasters in other states as soon as today, further sapping money from the relief fund, which currently has about $900 million, below the $1 billion officials prefer to keep on hand.
The shortfall means the Obama administration will soon request supplemental funding from Congress, likely causing another fight over federal spending as a new “supercommittee” prepares to identify trillions of dollars in government spending cuts.
Already House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) has said that any new money for FEMA will be offset by spending cuts elsewhere.
“We’ve had discussions about these things before and [FEMA] monies will be offset with appropriate savings or cost-cutting elsewhere in order to meet the priority of the federal government’s role in a situation like this,” Cantor said at a news conference last week after an earthquake struck his congressional district.
On Saturday, House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-Ky.) urged the Senate to quickly approve the House GOP version of the annual Homeland Security spending measure that includes $1 billion for additional disaster funding this year and $2.65 billion for fiscal 2012.
"Time and time again, the [Obama] administration has ignored the obvious funding needs of the Disaster Relief Fund, purposefully and irresponsibly underfunding the account and putting families and communities who have suffered from terrible disasters on the back burner," Rogers said. "Now the administration has let the fund reach critically low levels, putting continued recovery at risk, without a plan for the future or a clear method for dealing with new disasters."
Ahead of the money crunch, FEMA began providing weekly updates to congressional appropriators on funding shortfalls in May; daily updates began this month, an agency official said Sunday.
Several other agencies also provide funding after natural disasters, including the Small Business Administration and departments ofHousing and Urban Development and Agriculture, but their current funding levels were not immediately known.

Qaddafi's Son al-saadi liked fast cars, yachts, soccer and Gay Porno

al-saadi gaddafi
Wait a minute. Why in the heezy was there a DVD called “Boyz Tracks” hidden in Qaddafi’s son desk?!?!
Muammar Qaddafi’s son al-Saadi liked fast cars, yachts and soccer, and his beachfront villa was stocked with his expensive toys. His sister Aisha lived in a two-story mansion with an indoor pool and sauna.
As rebels took control of the Libyan capital over the weekend, the luxurious homes — symbols of the Qaddafi family’s excesses — were among their first targets. After driving out the guards, rebels trashed and looted the villas and neighbors wandered through the wreckage Wednesday expressing their anger at the Qaddafi family’s wealth and ostentatious tastes.
“I can’t even believe what I am seeing,” said Muftah Shubri, a resident of Tripoli’s western Nofleen neighborhood, as he walked across Aisha’s lawn to the large covered pool where a ball and a small rubber boat still floated in the water. Al-Saadi, a 38-year-old soccer aficionado, was described in a 2009 WikiLeaks cable from the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli as having a troubled past, including run-ins with police in Europe, drug and alcohol abuse and excessive partying.
On Monday, a day after thousands of rebels rode into Tripoli, about 200 people stormed al-Saadi’s home on the Mediterranean, said Seifallah Gneidi, a 23-year-old Tripoli rebel who participated in the looting.
Gneidi said he took a large bottle of gin, a toothbrush with a gilded handle and a pair of Diesel jeans. “We wanted to have the stuff that he had,” Gneidi said, a Kalashnikov slung over his shoulder. He said rebels are not condoning looting of private property, and only allow the wrecking of symbols of the Qaddafi family’s abuse of power.
Gneidi said al-Saadi had four cars — a BMW, an Audi, a white Lamborghini and a Toyota — that were all driven off during the ransacking. His claim about the fate of the cars could not be verified. A large painting of a yellow Lamborghini decorated the back wall of the covered parking area.
In an office area in the villa, reporters saw large piles of catalogues for yachts and cars. A catalog by the firm Benetti had a yellow handwritten post-it note attached listing the price for a 30-meter-long yacht as 7 million euros. A DVD with gay porn entitled “Boyz Tracks” slipped out of the stack of documents.

Storm Irene Hits NYC-Live

Path of IreneThis is  the latest on the Tropical Storm Irene. just passing NYC. Currently we are experiencing winds up to 45mph with wind gusts of 70mph. As the storm passes the next step is the storm surge which will be hitting at high tide and it is expected the surge is going to be a problem for lower Manhattan and areas close to the sea water. From where Iam things do not look that bad, but Iam not at a location that I can see the water or much except wind and rain which comes in spurs. My opinion is based is comparing this storm to others I have been through and what I can see through my window and live weather reports.. Iam only speaking about NYC. I am aware of how bad it is in Long Island with winds of 75 MPH and the storm has not fully hit there yet, not for 2 more hours. The eye of the storm has not hit NYC yet as is passing NJ now. I would imagine that at South beach Staten Island and Coney Island Brooklyn most be a lot worse that at my position. The water I understand that is coming under the board walk into Father Capo. Blvd. Winds are hitting pretty hard on my windows of where Iam
As far as NYC is concern the storm is hitting with drastically less than expected. Still no piece of cake. So I would dare say at this point that NYC seems to be surviving the storm well It is now 0747 hrs.
It is still dangerous.

Scotland Yard/guidance/ officers/advises to avoid calling gays "homosexual"

Scotland Yard is issuing guidance to officers which advises them to avoid calling gay and lesbian people "homosexual", it emerged today.

The guidance, which will be distributed to 35,000 officers and civilian staff in London, said the term "criminalises" gays and lesbians.

It says "homosexual" is "a medical term used to criminalise lesbians, gay men and bisexuals in the 19th century - the term should generally be avoided although some older lesbian, gay and bisexual people may describe themselves in this way".

Officers are also told: "A general rule is that if you are unsure about what term or expression to use consider asking the individual how they would like to be described particularly when writing a statement, for example, for a homophobic crime."

The guidance also gives information about homophobia, dealing with death bereavement in a gay family and the difficulties of 'coming out'.

Information on the transgender community covers the day to day interaction between police and transsexuals and transvestites, assisting victims of violence and other hate crime and the handling of transgender witnesses and suspects.

The guidance is contained in a new section about London's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community which is being added to the Metropolitan Police's Policing Diversity handbook.

The original handbook was published in September last year and contains information on the different religions and cultures in the capital.

It gives practical policing tips and other reference material such as food laws, religious holidays and population maps.

The new section is being added after an extensive consultation process and will be distributed at the beginning of next month.

Groups including the Met's LGBT Advisory Group and the Lesbian and Gay Police Association (LAGPA) worked on the guide.

Linda Bellos, co-chair of the LGBT Advisory Group, said it would "assist frontline police officers in ensuring that they deal with the LGBT communities with greater sensitivity and awareness".

LAGPA chairman Inspector Paul Cahill said: "I hope that it will support officers investigating allegations of homophobic and transphobic crime and those working to improve relations between the police and the LGBT community."

A Scotland Yard spokesman denied the use of the word "homosexual" had been banned.

"That is incorrect - the new section is meant to give advice and guidance about how people who may differ from the officer reading the handbook live.

"It is not a policy document, nor is it instruction as to what employees of the Metropolitan Police Service must do or say.

"The new section provides advice as recommended by gay and lesbian Londoners as to how they prefer to be treated and addressed.

"The handbook advises that, as we would all expect, the accepted terminology at any given time changes and also changes depending on who is being addressed."

The Oxford English dictionary defines "homosexual" as "feeling sexually attracted only to people of the same sex as oneself".

Perry: Being gay is similar to being alcoholic: Damn I feel so drunk!

Fresh off a suburban Denver fundraiser with a $5,000 per person price tag, Texas Gov.Rick Perry became the fourth
GOP candidate to sign the National Organization for Marriage’s anti-marriage equality pledge.
Of course, Perry’s position on marriage for gays and lesbians is nothing new. In a 2008 book, he wrote:
Even if an alcoholic is powerless over alcohol once it enters his body, he still makes a choice to drink. And, even if someone is attracted to a person of the same sex, he or she still makes a choice to engage in sexual activity with someone of the same gender.
Even before Perry signed the pledge to support a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, Brad Clark, executive director of One Colorado, had this to say about Perry’s book, via email:
“Comments like Perry’s simply perpetuate biased untruths and fuel the fires of hatred against gay and lesbian people. Every major medical and psychological association in this country has refuted and rejected comparisons between being gay and alcoholism. Perry’s beliefs are extreme and out-of-touch with everyday people who know, love, and accept their gay and lesbian neighbors, co-workers, and friends for who they are.”
“We have a real problem with that pledge,” One Colorado’s communications managerJess Cook Woodrum told the Colorado Independent.
She said that while it may seem smart to play to the fringes now, she’s not sure anyone can be elected president with such anti-equality views.
“We’re seeing a real sea change in public opinion on these issues. … Eighty percent of Americans supported the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, but now even some of theRepublicans are talking about going back to that,” Cook Woodrum said.
“I think a pro-equality Republican could receive across the board support, but I think taking these real anti-gay positions will prove problematic when they get to the general election. It will be a real problem for them if they continue with these real anti-gay positions.”

Puerto Rico all abuzz about ANTI GAYCongressman naked pictures

ImagesExplicit pictures that surfaced this week of a man who some believe is a Puerto Rican senator have led to calls that he step down if the allegations can be proved.
Local news media reported that the pictures first appeared on a mobile network application for gays and bisexuals and that later they themselves received copies from unidentified sources.
Sen. Roberto Arango did not categorically confirm or deny that the photos are of him. He said during an interview with WAPA TV earlier this week that he did not remember having taken them.
Arango is single and said he has taken pictures of himself with a cell phone as he continues to lose weight.

'ALICE' "To The MOON ALICE" Particularly This weekend: Ck Out Orbit Hotel

Hotel in space planned by Orbital Technologies
Up to seven space enthusiasts at a time would be housed in the Hotel in the Heavens, which is planned by Russian company Orbital Technologies
Russian engineers have announced the ultimate get-away-from-it-all holiday, revealing plans to put a hotel into orbit 200 miles above Earth by 2016. The four-room Hotel in the Heavens would house up to seven guests who would be able to cavort in zero-gravity while watching as our planet turns.
The out-of-this-world experience will not come cheaply, however. Spacetourists will have to pay £500,000 to travel on a Soyuz rocket to get to the hotel before stumping up a further £100,000 for a five-day stay.
"The hotel will be aimed at wealthy individuals and people working for private companies who want to do research in space," said Sergei Kostenko, chief executive of Orbital Technologies, which will construct the orbiting guest house. "A hotel should be comfortable, and this one will be."
The news that Russia plans to launch a hotel into outer space is the latest example in a series of extreme holidaymaking projects. As the world accumulates more and more billionaires, entrepreneurs are seeking newer and more demanding ways to provide them with the ultimate in hi-tech thrills. Apart from space hotels, which have also been touted recently by US and European aerospace companies, proposals to fly thrill-seekers on rocket flights to the edge of space are now being finalised by Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic as well as by US companies such as Space Adventures, Armadillo Aerospace and XCOR Aerospace.
In addition, billionaires may soon be able to buy their own artificial countries – built in international waters on oil rig-type platforms – where they can indulge in their dictatorial fantasies. Or they could buy high-performance submarines that will allow them to dive and explore the deepest parts of oceans. Being rich has never offered so many opportunities for adventure – and excess.
In the case of the space hotels, hedonism will be limited, however. Orbital Technologies have made it clear that guests will be restricted to consuming iced tea and fruit juices for their liquid intake. Alcohol will be banned. In addition, waste water will be recycled while air will be filtered to remove odour and bacteria and then returned to cabins.
Tourists, accompanied by experienced crew, will also have to dine on food prepared on Earth and reheated in microwave ovens, while showers will be carefully sealed affairs to prevent water escaping as globules that otherwise would float around the hotel's interior.
It is scarcely five-star luxury. On the other hand, there will be many compensations. Views of the Earth from the space hotel's special observation windows should be breathtaking as the craft whizzes round our planet every 90 minutes – providing guests with 16 sunsets and 16 sunrises a day. Visitors will also be able to choose to have their beds vertically or horizontally inclined to their line of flight. Indeed, the prospect of weightlessness offers all sorts of zero-gravity activities that can only be dreamt of on Earth.
By contrast, the pleasures offered for those who go on suborbital flights offered by Virgin Galactic will be over far more quickly. Launched on craft pioneered by aviation designer Burt Rutan, these craft will allow passengers to slip the surly bonds of the gravitational field for only a few minutes before their rocket-powered craft descends back to Earth. On the other hand, the company's plans are far more advanced than those put forward by most other space tourism entrepreneurs. Branson says Virgin Galactic's first flights should begin next year. Tickets will cost a mere $200,000, with celebrities such as Paris Hilton, Tom Hanks and Stephen Hawking signing up for early flights.
If that doesn't appeal, Peter Thiel – who co-founded PayPal and who was one of Facebook's earliest backers – has revealed that he wants to create communities that would be run according to extreme laissez-faireideals. According to Details magazine, he wants to build artificial islands – based on oil-rig designs – that would be a "kind of floating Petri dish for implementing policies that libertarians, stymied by indifference at the voting booths, have been unable to advance: no welfare, looser building codes, no minimum wage and few restrictions on weapons." A billionaire's dream venture, in other words.
And then there is the prospect of taking to the ocean depths in a range of new submersibles that will use ultra-strong materials to withstand the incredible pressures found at the deepest parts of the oceans. Again these are aimed for sale to the planet's richest inhabitants.
"Ninety per cent of the sea bed has still to be explored," said Patrick Lahey, president of Triton Submarines of Vero Beach, Florida, one of the leading companies involved in building such submersibles. "There is a host of wonders down there. You could cruise down to the wrecks of the Titanic or the Bismarck. You will be able to access any place in the ocean and watch all those wonderful sea creatures."

Ron Paul/Libertarian&on Hurricane response "We should be like 1900"

Ron Paul on hurricane response:
AP
BY ALEX PAREENE
Ron Paul has a hurricane response plan:
After a lunch speech today, Ron Paul slammed the Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA, and said that no national response to Hurricane Irene is necessary.
"We should be like 1900; we should be like 1940, 1950, 1960," Paul said. "I live on the Gulf Coast; we deal with hurricanes all the time. Galveston is in my district.
(Galveston is in his district! Not that he spends a lot of time there.)
Paul doesn't support FEMA because of "moral hazard." The fact that people will receive help should a natural disaster strike encourages people to live where natural disaster happen. (Like "North America.") Paul is mostly talking about the National Flood Insurance Program, which definitely has glaring flaws as public policy, but abolishing the federal agency in charge of responding to natural disasters instead of fixing the problems with one program that agency oversees seems like overkill.
It's very old news that Ron Paul thinks we should abolish FEMA, it's just rare that you hear anyone say we should go back to the good old days of disaster response and management. "We should be like 1900" is a very illuminating statement.
Back in those days, after hurricanes would strike, communities would remain devastated, with thousands of people homeless and hungry, for weeks. And eventually they would beg the Federal War Department for help. (But they all enjoyed their liberty, as they waited in filth and disease for help from Uncle Sam.)

Jersey Shore’s Deena Lesbian Side

Deena pursues bicuriosity//Photo Source: MTV
Posted by LGBT Weekly

In a day and age where going out, getting drunk, and girls-kissing-girls is perfectly presumable club behavior, it may come as no surprise that MTV’s Jersey Shore has taken on the trend, this time with Deena Cortese taking the lesbian lead.
Whether real or scripted, the (in)famous show capable of capturing audiences worldwide went ‘bicurious’ last Thursday in Italy as Cortese explored her ‘lesbionic’ side, as co-star Snooki put it. There, within the walls of a neon-blue nightclub adorned with hunky Italian men, it was a cute blonde twin that caught Cortese’s eye and not the tan muscles of the opposite sex.
The reels show Deena calling the American blonde “a blast in a glass” while dancing seductively on-camera. Later, the lesbian-like couple is seen kissing, cuddling in Deena’s bedroom quarters.
“When you’re drunk, sometimes you kiss girls. I might be bicurious,” said Cortese.
Speculation has long been that MTV producers have scripted the show, but MTV has stayed mum to the allegations. For now, audiences may or may not appreciate the glamorizing of lesbianism in order to gain show ratings.
By the end of the episode, Deena curtsies out of the make-out session – the bicurious blonde twin ends up switching sacks, eventually climbing into bed with co-star Vinny Guadagnino.
Bi, or just playing bi? Audiences will decide for themselves. Until then, MTV’s Jersey Shore will continue to captivate their record audience of 8.8 million viewers worldwide, lesbionic or not.
