Are? Aggy Deyn And James Franco Dating?? Answer here

by Julia Rubin

Are Agyness Deyn and James Franco dating? No, no they’re not. At least, we don’t think they are. Alas, therumors are swirling after Franco posted nearly a dozenvideos of him and the British model.
In the name of journalism, we watched every single one of the clips, and we’ve surmised that the pair was on some sort of photo shootthat involved a helicopter. They seemed to have hung out after, driving around Los Angeles with some other dude in the back of the car. They talked about pho (which Aggy had never heard of), skinny dipping and Ryan McGinley while Franco ate an apple and annoyingly spoke in a British accent.
While their banter might have been flirtatious, we have to imagine that’s sort of how Franco interacts with everyone. Plus, they aren’t even alone in any of these videos! As such, for the time being, we are firmly on Team They’re Not Dating. Of course, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t watch the videos below (here)! We picked out our favorites, but you can check out the rest here.

Homophobe On Attack In NYC's Oldest Gay Bar Pleads Guilty and Gets Sentenced

Julius, New York, NY
A parolee who admitted to a hate-crime attack at one of New York City's oldest gay bars says he had no hatred in his heart.
But Frederick Giunta (JUHN'-tah) said he accepted his guilt as he was sentenced Wednesday to 3 1/2 years in prison for the October attack at Julius.
A 1966 "sip-in" at Julius helped start the gay-rights movement.
The 45-year-old Giunta may face more prison time for violating parole. Parole officials didn't immediately return a call.
Giunta pleaded guilty last month to hate-crime assault and attempted robbery. Authorities say he grabbed at a man's wallet and hit him at another bar, then went to Julius and made anti-gay and racist remarks while punching a bartender there.

Newt Gingrich: Luv of Country Made me Do It, What a Patriot??

Newt Gingrich (R-GA) loves the country so much that it has caused him to stray from his marriages.
At least, that what the former House speaker seemed to be saying in a recent interview with CBN's David Brody.
"There's no question at times of my life, partially driven by how passionately I felt about this country, that I worked far too hard and things happened in my life that were not appropriate," Gingrich said.
"What I can tell you is that when I did things that were wrong, I wasn't trapped in situation ethics, I was doing things that were wrong, and yet, I was doing them," he said.
Gingrich has been married three times and divorced twice.
His second wife, Marianne, revealed to Esquire last year how the former speaker had presented his first wife with the terms of their divorce while she was in the hospital recovering from surgery for uterine cancer in 1980.
Rumors about Gingrich's fondness for oral sex with other women have circulated for some time. A 1995Vanity Fair profile explained how Anne Manning had claimed she had been intimate with him.

For The First Time!! A Poll That Shows American Support On Gay Marriage

Southern Illinois University sociologist Darren Sherkat blogs about an eye-opening result in the recently released  General Social Survey   poll by the University of Chicago's National Opinion Research Center:
For the first time, a legitimate scientific survey is showing very clearly that the proportion of Americans who agree or strongly agree that same sex marriage should be legal exceeds the proportion who either oppose or strongly oppose marital rights.  46% of Americans favor [marriage] rights, while 40% oppose..., and the remainder just can’t seem to decide. Of course, this is an incredible shift from the first time the question was asked in 1988–when 73% of Americans opposed marital rights, but it is also a seismic change from 2004, when only 30% of Americans supported marriage rights for same sex couples, and 56% opposed ....

Swedish football player Anton Hysen Comes Out

Anton Hysen

The 20-year-old came out in an interview with Offside magazine today.
Hysen, who plays for Swedish 4th tier side Utsiktens BK, is the first elite Swedish player to come out.
He told the magazine today that it was “f**ked up” that no other Swedish player had come out yet.
“I am a footballer. And gay. If I perform as a footballer, then I do not think it matters if I like girls or boys,” he said.
He admitted that the announcement could affect his career, but pointed out that other players had to deal with issues like racism from coaches and team bosses.
“That is their problem and not mine,” he told the magazine. “People may call me anything they want, it will just make me even more psyched. ”
The footballer is the son of former Liverpool and Fiorentina star Glenn Hysen,
Hysen senior told the magazine he was pleased his son had decided to come out.

PM David Cameron Pro Ruling Against Gay-Hating Christian Couple

Cameron MPBritish Prime Minister David Cameron has publicly defended a court ruling which banned a homophobic couple from becoming foster parents.

His comments came days after Work and Pensions Secretary Iain Duncan Smith also backed the ruling against Eunice and Owen Johns, which stops them from mentoring children and teenagers.

The couple, who are staunch Christians, believe homosexuality is immoral.

Speaking yesterday, Cameron - who held the first-ever lesbian and gay reception at 10 Downing Street last summer – said Christians must be “tolerant and welcoming” towards homosexuality, no matter what.

"This matter was decided by a court in the appropriate way and I think we should rest with the judgment that was made," he added.

Naturally, the comments have sparked anger from religious communities.

According to the Daily Mail, former Tory Home Office minister Ann Widdecombe said: "It is high time the Government was 'tolerant and welcoming and broad-minded' towards Christians.

"There is no balance at all now – Christian rights have been all but wiped out. The Prime Minister’s comments are extremely disappointing and ill-advised."

Matthew Morrison had professed that he was overjoyed to perform a duet with Elton John for his upcoming debut album.

The Glee star told Access Hollywood Livehosts Billy Bush and Kit Hoover that collaborating with the legendary 'Candle In The Wind' singer was one of the most electrifying experiences of his life.

"I was actually just listening to that track we did today… it's an epic song," he said.

The star continued: "It's [a cover of John's] 'Mona Lisas and Madhatters' and it kind of goes into 'Rocket Man', and I was listening to it, and just hearing Elton John's voice, and his voice fades out and my voice comes in, and I'm like, 'What world am I living in right now?' It's just, like, crazy."

Morrison further explained that the LP's first single 'Summer Rain' was inspired by a particularly fond moment with an former lover.

"It's kind of about making love on a roof," he remarked. "I wanted to capture a moment in time that I had with an ex-girlfriend of mine. It was such a beautiful moment - it was about being young and in New York."

"It was something when I'm 65 I'm going to look back on and be like, 'That was an awesome moment'. It's one of those memory burns you have and I really wanted to make a song out of it. It was actually the first song I wrote on the album."

The singer, who has scored two US platinum-selling albums with his Glee castmates, is to release his self-titled solo record in May.

Lady GaGa Dissolved CD Deal With Target-Target Not Doing Enough..

Lady Gaga has dissolved the deal that gave Target rights to sell an exclusive version of her new albumBorn This Way. And why? Because the store isn’t doing enough for the gays.
Last year Target came under fire for donatingmoney to MN Forward, a Minnesota political organization that used the company’s money to create an ad for Tom Emmer, a gubernatorial candidate who is staunchly opposed to gay marriage. (Emmer lost the election to Democrat Mark Dayton.)
Gaga gave Target the rights to sell the deluxe version of Born This Way on the condition that it would start affiliating itself with LGBT groups and causes, like the ones she supports. Shetold Billboard last month the “relationship is hinged upon their reform in the company to support the gay community.” Since then, Target has amended its political giving policy to include a board of people who evaluate how sound certain donations are, but the company still doesn’t donate much money to gay rights initiatives. And for Gaga, that’s not enough.
A spokesperson foe Gaga confirmed to The Advocate that the deal was done, saying the two parties “came to a mutual decision to end their overall exclusive partnership a few weeks ago.”
All we have to say is good for Gaga. She might not have the power to make multi-billion dollar international retail operations do what she wants, but she sure can decide who gets to sell her stuff. We’re glad she’s sticking to her guns, and we wonder how long it’ll be before other artists — and candidates for those cushy Go International design collaborations — refuse to work with Target because of the kinds of politicians it supports.

MIke Starr From Alice in Chains Rocker Dead at 44

 by

Mike StarrVH1
Mike Starr's demons tragically caught up with him.
The original bassist for Alice in Chains was found dead Tuesday in Utah. He was 44. Cause of death has not yet been released.
Starr, who battled drug addiction, appeared on the third season of Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew in 2009 and gave a testimonial marking six months and seven days of sobriety during season four.
But his latest run-in with the law implied that he had hit a roadblock in his recovery.
Starr was arrested last month in Salt Lake City on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance for allegedly having six Xanax pills and six tablets of the painkiller Opana.
"Devastating to hear of Mike Starr succumbing to his illness. So very sad. Our prayers are with his family," Dr. Drew Pinsky tweeted this afternoon.
Starr, who was born in Honolulu, played in Seattle with Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney as the glam band Diamond Lie, which later morphed into Alice in Chains with the addition of Layne Staley.
Their first studio EP was 1990's We Die Young.
Starr left the band in 1993 while they were touring with Ozzy Osbourne and was replaced by Mike Inez. Starr mentioned during his time on Celebrity Rehab that he had been booted from Alice in Chains because of his drug problem.
Inez was the one to reunite with Cantrell and Kinney in 2005 for a benefit concert for victims of the tsunami in South Asia. Staley died of a drug overdose in 2002.
"I totally back Mike and I back his efforts to get clean and remain somebody that I and the band really care about—he's a friend of ours, you know, and we wish him the best," Cantrell wrote in the liner notes to the band's 2009 album Black Gives Way to Blue.

War veteran loses his job after 54 years for gay slur

Freddy Schmitt, 82, from New York, was told he no longer had a job with American Airlines after allegedly using the term 'faggot' during a workplace session about 'Don't Ask Don't Tell'.

The company said it did not matter that the World War II veteran was defending gay soldiers' right to serve and that the context of the comment - 'Back then a faggot coulda saved my life' - did not change their decision.

Nor did the fact he has a blemish-free employment record, or the pleas from his work colleagues to give 'Papa Freddy', as he was known as, another chance.
Co-worker Jack Sullivan said: 'The guy is like everybody's father here.'
Mr Schmitt, a baggage crew chief from Brooklyn, said he simply wants the same thing the U.S. Army gave him six decades ago - an honourable discharge.
According to the New York Post, he made the remark in December and was immediately suspended and then fired after two hearings last month.
He said he wishes he could have stayed on until November when he was planning to retire, so he could leave with the milestone under his belt .
'It would look nice, going out with 55 years. After 54 years, all I want is to go out in good faith,' he said.
Mr Schmitt is appealing the decision but it could take months, according to union officials.
Under the terms of the firing, Mr Schmitt retains his pension but loses his health benefits and the travel privileges his wife of 45 years, Viola, enjoyed.
Openly gay, lesbian or bisexual people are currently barred from military service.
'Don't ask, don't tell' is the policy restricting the United States military personal from efforts to discriminate or harass closeted homosexual or bisexual  service members or applicants. The restrictions are mandated by federal law
In 2008, President Obama ordered a full repeal of these laws and pledged again in 2009 to the Human Rights Campaign that the ban would be ended but so far it has not come into effect.

Are there gay athletes at BYU?

When BYU suspended basketball star Brandon Davies for having premarital sex with his girlfriend, we heard about the Mormon school’s “honor code.” Among its no-no’s are sex, caffeine and swearing. And, of course, “homosexual behavior.”
Homosexual behavior is inappropriate and violates the Honor Code. Homosexual behavior includes not only sexual relations between members of the same sex, but all forms of physical intimacy that give expression to homosexual feelings.
This got me to thinking — has anyone ever heard of a gay BYU athlete? It seems like an oxymoron, but certainly there have been gay jocks at the school at some point. When I asked around to people who knew college sports, everyone drew a blank. Obviously, I am not talking about out BYU athletes, since by definition that person would be an ex-BYU athlete quickly. Being a gay jock is hard enough at secular campuses, let alone one run by a church that was a major backer of Prop. 8 in California.
I imagine that most gay BYU students were in the closet before deciding to go there. This is the case of a purported 23-year who writes the Gay at BYU blog. He says he went to BYU to try and “cure” his sexual feelings, only to realize his religion, and not he, was the problem.
You know they always say that being Mormon is hard, being gay is hard, but being both is Hell. … I am gay and not a sinner. Let me say that again. I AM NOT A SINNER! I am worthy of whatever anyone else is worthy of receiving in the next life. If I was born with an attraction to men rather than women (and, YES, you are born gay – it is NOT a choice), it does not make me a “bad person.” It just makes me different.
If anyone gay was an athlete at BYU or knows of someone who was, feel free to post your thoughts on what that was like. Or is “gay BYU athlete” about as likely as “Clippers win NBA title”?

Lady Gaga Rallies New York Fans To Lobby For Same-Sex Marriage Law

A New York senator has been bombarded with letters calling for the legalisation of same-sex marriage after Lady Gaga rallied fans at a recent concert to lobby for the cause.

The Paparazzi hitmaker and equal rights campaigner urged concertgoers at a show in Buffalo, New York on Friday (04Mar11) to protest against State Senator Mark Grisanti's stance opposing plans to make gay marriage legal.
The pop superstar also took to her Twitter.com and Facebook.com pages to solicit support for gay rights and encourage fans around the world to express their thoughts to Grisanti, a native of Buffalo.
Her ploy worked, and the politician's office was inundated with emails from concerned campaigners and fans of the outspoken singer - estimates suggest he received more than 600 messages by Monday (07Mar11) - more than six times the usual volume of correspondence.
The publicity boost prompted Grisanti's chief of staff, Doug Curella, to take the unusual move and issue a statement addressing Gaga's influence over her New York fan base.
He says, "Lady Gaga is a terrific world-renowned performer, entitled to her opinion. That is why our country is so great, because you have the opportunity to have your voice be heard and reach out to your local representatives."
And Gaga's call appears to have been heard by Grisanti - Curella claims the politician is endeavouring to reply to each and every email he received.
Gaga has previously used her pop power to force U.S. politicians repeal the military's controversial Don't Ask, Don't Tell policy, which banned gay soldiers from serving openly in the armed forces. Her efforts helped to convince lawmakers to repeal the ruling in December (10).
