Fox And TMZ Disgaree Over Lohan's Appeal

Have you seen the latest issue of Playboy yet? You know, the one with Lindsay Lohan and her firecrotch draped over some tacky red velvet? You may have seen the photos, but chances are, you didn't buy the issue since, according to Fox News, the LiLo Playboyedition isn't selling.
Perhaps Holiday shoppers have more important things to spend their money on, and Lohan in her birthday suit doesn't top most Christmas wish-lists.

Lindsay Lohan's Playboy Spread Had To Be Re-Shot

“I thought the shots were really boring and didn't really live up to the promises Playboy had made," Lux Alptraum, editor of Fleshbot told Fox. "If they'd actually gotten full frontal shots of Lindsay, or come up with a fresher, more interesting concept, there might have been more demand for the photos.”
It's true that the photos are no different from Lohan's other ode to Marilyn Monroe and, what's more, they have been plastered across every blog site out there (except here at limelife - we were underwhelmed from the get go). But is overexposure really the cause, or is Lohan simply not desirable?

The illustrious Hugh Hefner gave E! the best quote:  “It really came as a surprise to me. I kind of had mixed emotions about it initially, and then it turned into something bigger than life." Then asked what he meant by "mixed emotions," Hef added: "I wasn't quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. It depends on whether it's Tuesday or Thursday."
It now appears as though Hef's initial reservations were correct and -- especially after her failure to plug the magazine on The Ellen Show last week because she missed a flight-- Lohan may not be the centerfold siren everyone had hoped.

But, as always, you can't count Lindsay out just yet; TMZ reports that the Lohan Playboy issue is selling like hotcakes. In their recent article titled "Playboy Sales Are On Fire!," TMZwrites that, "newsstands in major cities like New York and Los Angeles have had to re-order the issue multiple times. We're told Playboy is even getting re-orders from cities that usually never order more issues."
Now it's pretty hard to decide which is the most reliable source here: TMZ or Fox News. What do you think?
