The ongoing struggle to ensure that Gay Americans have the same rights as everyone else has a new warrior.  Academy Award-winning actress Monica Imes Hicks, a Baltimore-area native better known as Mo'nique, star of the movie "Precious," has come out with a brief video that supports the concept of no longer treating LGBT Americans like second class citizens with some sort of contagious infection that immediately spreads to children.
“Hey y’all, it’s your girl Mo’Nique and I’d like to share some things with you,” she says at the beginning of the video.  “I believe since we’ve all been given free will, let’s use our will to let others be free."
Mo'nique joins Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo who appeared in the group’s first two videos, produced by Marylanders for Marriage Equality as part of their ongoing Web campaign.
A measure to allow same-sex marriage in the "Free State" passed the Senate during the past session but fell short in the House of Delegates.
