Police officer removes a stroller near the scene where a woman and child were rescued from the water off W. 70th St. in Manhattan Tuesday.

A woman and a child were rescued Tuesday morning from the chilly waters of the Hudson River, authorities said.
It was unclear how the pair wound up in the water, or what condition they were in when pulled from the Hudson. The FDNYreceived two calls about the pair after they went in the water - the first coming in around 11:30 a.m.
The two were both alive and taken to New York Presbyterian Hospital, fire officials said.
The adult and child apparently went into the river somewhere off the West Side north of 70th St., authorities said.
